1. Will the tradition continue consecutively beyond 2002?
2. Will Andrew Duncan's 1999 time* of 1.33.12 be beaten by a RWCWA athlete in this decade?
3. Will Christian Bone's 1998 10th place be beaten by a WA male athlete in this decade? (Christian did 1.32.55 in 1999 competing for NSW.)
4. Will Andrew Duncan's 1999 13th Australian, and Daniel Lowe's 2001&2002 13th Australian, placings, be surpassed by a RWCWA athlete?
5. Will any WA athlete do the Australian 50km walk championship** as Jonathon Phillips did in 1998 (6th; 5hrs 38min), and 1999 [DNF (44km 5hrs 11min)], in this decade?
*Don Keane was one of the best 20km Walkers to originate from WA. He went on
to finish 6th in the 1956 Melbourne Olympics 20km in 1hr 33min 52 secs.
**The best time by a WA athlete in the 50km walk is possibly by 1974 Commonwealth Games rep Ian Hodgkinson in the 1970's??? [He finished 5th in the 1974 Commonwealth Games 20 Miles (approx. 32km) at Christchurch New Zealand in a time of 2hrs 44min 55secs, and also took the Bronze in the 1972 Australian 20km Walk, in 1hr 42.37] Con Kuzak in a time of 4hr 40 took out the Silver in the Australian 50km Walk in 1985...Teams results also indicate some other WA walkers doing well in the 50km in 1979,1983, and 1984...see here Australian Open Road Walks Championships 1996-20032002 World Cup; Turin; Italy; Australian team report
